The 2006 Infusion Nurses Society Standards of Practice support the use of vein visualzation devices by clinicians.  Vein visualization devices increase success rates with venous access procedures and improve patient care.  We offer selected products that we have found to work well and are easy to use.  We have included hand held models, and larger models that are useful for clinics, doctor's offices, and other healthcare facilities.

Innovative Side-Transillumination Technology
Veinlites use a patented side-transillumination technology.  The side-transillumination method is where a bright ring of light is placed on the skin and focused under the skin to form a virtual light source below the skin. This virtual light source is like having a bright light bulb under the skin that moves with the Veinlite. Therefore, uniform transillumination of the skin is made possible almost anywhere on the skin. An opening in the Veinlite devices provides access to the vein while imaging it for faster and accurate vein access. The unique design of the Veinlite devices blocks the vein and stretches the skin for easier access.

General Vein Access

Accessing Veins with Veinlite LED and Veinlite EMS- Now you can image those hard-to-find veins using the Veinlite LED or Veinlite EMS in patients where veins are not visible in the standard access areas. The Veinlite LED and Veinlite EMS can help find veins in several different areas of the body such as forearms, legs, thighs and scalp. You can also use the Veinlite LED as a regular transilluminator to shine light through the arms or legs for applications in pediatrics and neonatal care.

Pediatric Vein Access- The Veinlite has been clinically validated to be significantly better at first attempt in IV placement than standard of care in the Pediatric Emergency Department at The Children's Hospital in Boston. Presented at the PAS meeting 2005 by Katsogridakis et al.

Varicose Vein Imaging and Sclerotherapy- The fiberoptic Veinlite has become the gold standard for mapping superficial varicose veins and the network of feeder veins prior to treatment by ambulatory phlebectomy and sclerotherapy. With it's bright 150 watts light source and unique ring light design, veins can be imaged deeper and with a larger field of view. It is unsurpassed for imaging feeder veins that are often responsible for spider veins and telangiectesia.
